FAQ

How much does garbage disposal repair or replacement cost in Charlotte?+

Most disposal repairs (jam clearing, reset, switch replacement) run $120–$180 including the flat $80 service call. Full disposal replacement with a new mid-tier InSinkErator, Waste King, or Moen unit installed runs $280–$520 depending on horsepower and whether your sink connection needs adapter work. We give you a flat, all-in quote up front.

My disposal is humming but not spinning. Can it be fixed?+

Usually yes — a humming disposal almost always means the impellers are jammed. We free the jam with a service wrench from the bottom, clear the obstruction, and reset the unit. If the motor itself has burned out from sitting jammed, replacement is the better option and we'll quote both paths during the visit.

Why is my garbage disposal leaking?+

Top three causes we see: leaking sink flange (the seal between the disposal and the sink basin), a leaking dishwasher inlet hose, or — most commonly — a leak from the bottom of the unit, which means the internal seals have failed and the disposal needs replacement. Bottom-of-unit leaks are not repairable economically; we'll quote a replacement on site.

Should I repair my garbage disposal or replace it?+

If the unit is under 5 years old and the issue is a jam, switch, or external seal — repair. If it's over 8 years old, leaking from the bottom, or the motor is burned out — replace. New disposals start at about $200 in parts plus install, and modern units are dramatically quieter and more efficient than 10-year-old models.

What disposal brands do you install and repair?+

We service and install InSinkErator (Badger, Evolution series), Waste King, Moen, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, GE, and Frigidaire disposals. We can match your existing horsepower and configuration or upgrade you to a quieter, more powerful unit during the same visit if you prefer.

Do you handle the plumbing connection on a new disposal install?+

Yes — full installs include the disposal, mounting hardware, sink flange seal, dishwasher tie-in (if applicable), and drain trap connection. We test for leaks under load before leaving and clean up. Every install is backed by our 90-day workmanship warranty plus the manufacturer's warranty on the unit itself.
